Finding Simplicity & Peace ~ Inside & Out

I came across this peace prayer quite awhile ago.  It seems especially relevent during times when the fast pace of news and life can seem to overwhelm us and our senses. 

It's important during these stressful times to come back to the Yogic practice of Pratyahara -- drawing our senses inward for the peace, quiet, safety, and wisdom that our heart can offer.

I adapted the prayer so that it could serve as a Savasana Yoga meditation this week.  As we keep the Earth Day spirit in our hearts, perhaps this meditation can be of benefit.

A Blessing of Simplicity & Peace

We give thanks for simplicity and peace.   Let us find such places within ourselves. We give thanks for places of refuge and beauty. Let us find such places within ourselves.

We give thanks for place of nature's truth and freedom, of joy, inspiration and renewal, places where all beings may find acceptance and belonging. Let us search for these places in our world and in ourselves.  Let us restore them. Let us strengthen and protect them.  Let us create them.

May we mend our outer world according to the truth of our inner life. And, may our hearts be shaped and nourished by nature's eternal wisdom.

NEW 8-Week Yoga Session Begins May 1, 2013

Yoga Classes
Mondays & Wednesdays
4:30 p.m. - All Levels (Level 1)
6:00 p.m. - All Levels (Level 1 & 2)

NEW 8-week session begins on WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 and is scheduled to run through MONDAY, JULY 1.

(NO CLASSES during MEMORIAL DAY week `-- Monday, May 27 and Wednesday, May 29.)

FULL SESSION – $120 (take as many of my Monday/Wednesday classes as you like during the session!)

My classes are appropriate for All Levels, including Beginners.

The 4:30 p.m. class focuses on a Level 1 practice, exploring basic Yoga poses from a variety of traditions. The 6:00 p.m. class may also include Level 2 poses, more challenging Yoga for those who would like a slightly more vigorous practice (with modifications available for beginners.) 

While Beginners and others are welcome at any of my classes, if you have physical restrictions that may limit your practice, you may find the easier pace of the early class more comfortable for your needs.

I'm also delighted to offer private Yoga lessons. Unlike a class setting, a private Yoga session is uniquely created for your needs -- focusing on the many ways that Yoga can benefit the body, mind, and spirit. It is a lovely way to take your practice to the next level, help in the recovery from injury or illness, or simply to explore Yoga at your own pace. If you're interested email me at

Spring Yoga Update ~ 3 Classes Left

Just a quick reminder, we have three nights of Yoga left in this current Spring Yoga Session:

MONDAY, April 22
MONDAY, April 29

Classes are at 4:30 p.m. (Level 1) and 6:00 p.m. (Level 1/Level 2).

If you're enrolled in the session and need to make-up classes, this is your chance to add some extra Yoga into your week.

We have space for drop-ins, so no need to wait for the new session to begin.  So, if you'd like to dust off your mat in the coming days ... please join us.

The NEW "LATE SPRING" session will begin on Wednesday, May 1.  As always, it will be an 8-week session (although I know there will be some cancelled classes around Memorial Day).  I'll figure out the exact dates soon and will post them here soon.

$13 / drop-in class
$70 / take any 8 classes during the 8-week session
$120 / unlimited classes, take as many as you like during the 8-week session
