Be Fearless & Pure ...

This week in Yoga, I shared a meditation with you from The Bhagavad Gita, the spiritual book that guides (and explains) Yoga.  It is a beautiful story and guide to living a fulfilling and enlightening life.  It enhances every spiritual practice and if your Yoga is beginning to be about more than just the asanas (poses) on the mat, then The Gita is the perfect step into the higher potential of your Yoga practice.

The meditation in classes this week comes from the beginning of Chapter 16 of The Bhagavad Gita and I share it again with you here:

Be fearless and pure; never waver in your determination or your dedication to a good and spiritual life.  Give freely.  Be self-controlled, sincere, truthful, loving, and full of the desire to serve others.  Seek the truth in all things; learn to be detatched and take joy in the sacrifices you make to support goodness.

Do not get angry or harm any living creature, but be compassionate and gentle; show goodwill to all.

Cultivate vigor, patience, will, purity, avoid malice and pride.  Then, you will achieve your divine destiny. ...

These divine and good qualities will lead you to freedom.

The Bhagavad Gita is available widely.  It is a short and transformative guide.  You can even find free Apps of Gita translations for your iPhone or Droid.  I hope you'll explore its beauty.

Madison Yoga ~ Spring Session Begins Monday, 3/12

The new 8-week SPRING YOGA SESSION in Madison, Virginia begins Monday, March 12.   The session is scheduled to run through Monday, May 14.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, we have to include a 2-week break in our Madison session to accommodate the school’s schedule and needs. There will be no classes on April 2 and 9. (It doesn’t mean there’s NO yoga at all on those days, just not in Madison -- I’ll be unrolling my mat in Orange on at least one of those Mondays! Stay tuned!)

Madison Yoga is on MONDAYS, at WETSEL MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY (next to the high school on Route 29). Classes are at 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.   Each class runs approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

You may join the session at any time. And, beginners are always, always welcome!

Fee: 8-week session: $64, or $12/class.  Your first class with me is free ~ yay!

YES! There is Yoga Tonight In Madison

Snowy morning ... melting afternoon!  Snow is melting, school is still open, the roads are wet but fine, and YES indeed, there IS Yoga Class in Madison tonight.  Hope to see you at 4:00 p.m. or at 5:30 p.m.!

Orange Yoga: Spring Session Begins Wed. 3/7

The 2012 SPRING session of Yoga in Orange, Virginia begins WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7.
There are 2 classes each Wednesday at 4:30 – 5:45 pm. and at 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. Classes are held at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio, 145 Byrd Street (the Altman Bldg) in Orange.

Classes are appropriate for all levels -- even if you've never done yoga before. You may join the session at anytime. And, your first class with me is free, so come try it out

The 8-week session begins March 7 and is scheduled to run through May 2.  (There will be no class on April 11.)

SPECIAL NOTE: The Winter Session in Orange was vibrant and wonderful ... and nearly full! So, remember, first priority for space in a class goes to students registered in the 8-week session. Drop-in students are always welcome to join -- but only if space allows. We've never had to turn anyone away ... so please do come and try classes out. Hey, where's Madison?  Yoga in Madison continues on Mondays ... we're just a week behind Orange on the session schedule.  The current session finishes up on 3/5.  New SPRING session begins Monday, 3/12.  I'll post the full Madison Spring schedule soon!
