Madison & Orange Yoga: Fall Session Begins September 13

It's nearly Fall! The weather’s a little bit cooler (or nearly so!) … the kids are back in school … and now is the time to revisit all those good intentions you made last January to unroll your yoga mat more often and feel the benefits that your yoga practice can bring. Last January? Has it been 9 months already?

So, here’s your chance to recommit yourself to … yourself.

A special Labor Day morning class in Orange (scroll down for the earlier post with Labor Day details)… then our Fall sessions begin in Madison and Orange, Virginia the week of September 13.


This 8-week session in Madison is scheduled to run from September 13 through November 8. (There is NO class on Monday, October 11.)

Two classes every Monday at 4:00 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. at Wetsel Middle School (in the library). General class info below.


This 8-week session in Orange is scheduled to run from September 15 through November 3.

Two classes every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio (145 Byrd Street in Orange). More info below.


My classes are designed for all levels, beginners on up! New students can take a free class and may join the session at any time. Please dress comfortably in exercise clothing and bring a yoga mat or beach towel. (Some props and mats are available for use in Orange.)

Register for the 8-week session for $64 (the equivalent of getting a couple classes for free!) or drop-in for a single class for $12. (Registered students also receive discounts on special classes, retreats, and workshops.)

I want you to play with your yoga as much as possible ... so registered Orange students can make up missed classes by attending a Madison class, and vice versa. No need to ask ... just come! Please make up your missed classes by the end of the registered session (give or take a week).

September Meditation Practice ~ 9/5 & 9/19

I am pleased to offer a space for Meditation Practice on the first and the third Sunday of the month. We meet at 5:00 p.m. at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio in Orange, Virginia (145 Byrd Street, Orange).

This month we will meet:

  • Sunday, September 5 (Labor Day weekend)
  • Sunday, September 19

Practice lasts about one hour.

No experience necessary, just an open heart. Meditation provides many refreshing benefits to body, mind, and spirit. It lowers blood pressure, quiets the nervous system, and allows space for renewed mental clarity.

We practice guided, walking, and silent meditation. Our practice is gently structured so that you can explore the many different methods of mindfulness. (Pillows and chairs are provided so you can sit comfortably.) We all face the same difficulties -- a busy mind, the challenge of staying present, making time for our quiet. But, when we join together and practice together, it seems much easier to touch that peace that is within each of us.

There is no cost to attend, although donations are gratefully accepted to help cover studio expenses.
