I am so very sorry to cancel classes ... we WILL get our session in! And, I hope to see you next Monday, when the day is warm, the sun is bright, and the sky is clear and blue.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.

Due to the snowy Sunday that caused us to cancel our first practice of the month, we will meet for Meditation just one time in February:
- Sunday, February 21
Meditation practice is held at 5:00 p.m. at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio, 145 Byrd Street, in Orange, Virginia. We meet the first and third Sundays of each month.
No experience is necessary. We practice guided, walking, and silent meditation ... and we have bolsters, pillows, and chairs for your comfort. Our practice is a kind-hearted one and you'll find that the stillness of meditation comes quite easy when you sit with a group in quiet. There is no cost to attend, but donations are gratefully accepted to help cover studio expenses.
If you have any questions please contact me at: peacefulhands (at) gmail.com or 540-672-9528.

There will be no yoga classes tonight -- Wednesday, February 10 -- at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio in Orange.
We will plan to be back in our yoga rhythm next week ... when spring will be even closer! Thank you for your flexibility and I hope you take time to unroll your mat and warm your spirit from the inside.

We will tack this class onto the end of the session and ... eventually ... we will get our full session in. It just may take a bit of patience and flexibility (two benefits that come from yoga naturally!)
Madison Cancellation Policy: If the county schools close due to bad roads and bad weather, we are closed, too. There are only a few exceptions to this: if the weather and the roads aren’t too bad AND the front office at Wetsel is at the school and can let me into the building, then we can have class. If that happens, I will post the "class is on" notice here on the website. If you've signed up for the 8-week session you'll also get an email and call. More often than not, if the county schools are closed due to weather/bad roads, we'll cancel our class as well.
But, for tonight -- stay warm and cozy at home!
Remember this policy is ONLY for unscheduled weather events. There are many times that Madison schools close for holidays, teacher workdays, and the like, when our class goes on as scheduled. If in doubt, call me, email me, or check the website.
And, this is ONLY for Madison classes held at Wetsel Middle School. Orange classes on Wednesdays do NOT follow the school system; we cancel classes in Orange based on the current weather and road situation and I let students know by 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Whew ... hopefully we are moving into the springtime and all these snowy cancellations will be behind us. Thank you for your understanding!

This blog is starting to look awfully negative -- a lot of "no classes" and "no practices" due to all the snowy weather. (And, it's beginning to remind me of growing up in North Dakota.)
In any event, mindfulness and quiet contemplation is a wonderful way to spend some time on a snowy day, so I hope you will find a cozy and warm little place in your home to sit tall, soften your heart, and breathe deeply.
May you be safe and dry and warm ... and I will update this site early next week with information on when our next meditation practice will be.
Monday, February 01, 2010
Our class will be made up at the end of the session.
In the meantime, I hope you'll take time to unroll your mat at home and stretch out. Manuevering on slick and icy paths can take its toll on your legs and hips ... a good, delicious yoga stretch can help ease out the snowy weather!
I will miss seeing you tonight. I hope to see you next Monday (when the springtime will be one week closer)!
