For the 2008-2009 Yoga Seasons ... here is some general information on my classes in Madison & Orange:
MADISON: Two classes are held on Mondays -- at 4:00 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. at Wetsel Middle School in the Library.
Location -- Wetsel Middle School is located on Route 29, adjacent to the High School. Park in front of the school and come in the main doors. The library is ahead, door on the LEFT.
Cost -- Class costs are: $12 a class or, join for an 8-week session at the discounted rate of $64. Your first class with me is free. (Registered students also receive discounts on special classes, workshops, and retreats.)
What to Bring & What to Wear -- Please bring a yoga mat, if you have one, or a beach towel. We practice on a carpeted floor, but a bit of extra cushioning is helpful. Dress comfortably for exercise; yoga is done barefoot on your mat. You may wish to bring a sweater and socks or even a light blanket for the relaxation session at the end of class.
Make-Up Classes -- If you're registered for a session and miss a class you can make up the class by attending a class in Orange. Please complete your make-ups during the session (give or take a week). No need to ask if you can make-up a class ... you're always welcome in Orange!
ORANGE: Two classes are held on Wednesdays -- at 4:30 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. at Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio in downtown Orange.
Location -- Peaceful Hands Yoga Studio is located at 145 Byrd Street in Orange. This is one block off of Main Street, approximately one block from the Main Street/Byrd Street stoplight (the 7-11 Stoplight). Coming from Main Street, one block over the train tracks, turn RIGHT at the 7-11 stoplight, and the building is one block ahead on the LEFT. The building is a brick building with a green awning (Johnny's Furniture Repair & Fox Clocks signs are out in front). Please park on the side of the building. Come in the main doors and follow the "Yoga" signs down the hall.

We have some "loaner mats" available at the Orange studio as well as pillows, bolsters, blankets and other props (which, contrary to popular belief, I do use now and then!). Dress for exercise; yoga is done barefoot on the mat. You may wish to bring a sweater and socks for the cooling relaxation session at the end of class.
Make-Up Classes -- If you're registered for a session and miss a class you can make up the class by attending a class in Madison. Please complete your make-ups during the session (give or take a week). No need to ask if you can make-up a class ... you're always welcome in Madison!
You don't need to wait for a new session to start to join in -- you may join in at any time.
My classes are designed for all levels; beginners and long-time students of yoga are welcome (and all levels in-between). Don't worry if you've never been on a yoga mat before. Yoga has been around for thousands and thousands of years, in the great cosmic scheme of things, we're ALL beginners.
We practice basic hatha yoga and I like to explore and play with many different yoga practices -- including gentle Tibetan yoga, energizing Anusara yoga, and balancing Ayurvedic yoga. Every class includes some breathwork and time for relaxation and meditation. In addition, I like to blend in other beneficial practices, including a bit of pilates, tao-ist movement, and tai chi now and then. Yoga is a wonderful way to bring health, flexibility, and strength to the body; calm the mind and relieve stress; and rejuvenate the spirit.
Cancellations -- Occasionally classes are cancelled due to bad weather or other calendar conflicts. Session dates are adjusted accordingly. I post last-minute cancellations on this page, email the "yoga email list" as soon as an unexpected cancellation arises, and I call registered students to let them know.
