Yoga Classes For 2008

Just to make it a bit easier to find things on this site, here's the general information about my yoga classes in both Madison and Orange.

MADISON:

Two classes are held on Mondays -- at 4:00 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. at Wetsel Middle School in the Library.

Wetsel is located on Route 29, adjacent to the High School. Come in the main doors and the library is ahead, door on the LEFT.

Class costs are: $12 a class or, join for an 8-week session at the discounted rate of $64. Your first class with me is free.

Please bring a yoga mat -- if you have one -- or a beach towel. We practice on a carpeted floor, but a bit of extra cushioning is helpful. Dress comfortably.

ORANGE:

Two classes are held on Wednesdays -- at 4:30 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. at "BE YOGA" at Peaceful Hands Studio in downtown Orange.

The studio is located at 145 Byrd Street in Orange. This is one block off of Main Street, approximately one block from the Main Street/Byrd Street stoplight (the 7-11 Stoplight). From Main Street, turn RIGHT at this light, and the building is one block ahead on the LEFT. The building is a brick building with a green awning. Come in the main doors and follow the "Yoga" signs down the hall.

Class costs are: $12 a class or, joing for an 8-week session at the discounted rate of $64. Your first class with me is free.

Bring your yoga mat if you have one. We have some "loaner mats" available at the Orange studio as well as pillows, bolsters, and other props (which, contrary to popular belief, I do use now and then!).

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

You don't need to wait for a new session to start to join in -- you may join in at any time.

My classes are designed for all levels; beginners and long-time students of yoga are welcome (and all levels in-between). Don't worry if you've never been on a yoga mat before. Yoga has been around for thousands and thousands of years, in the great cosmic scheme of things, we're ALL beginners.

We practice basic hatha yoga and I like to explore and play with many different yoga practices -- including gentle Tibetan yoga, energizing Anusara yoga, and balancing Ayurvedic yoga. In addition, I like to blend in other beneficial practices, including a bit of pilates, tao-ist movement, and tai chi now and then. Yoga is a wonderful way to bring health, flexibility, and strength to the body; calm the mind and relieve stress; and rejuvenate the spirit.

For more info on the current session click on the "Madison Yoga" or "Orange Yoga" label at the bottom of this post, which will bring up a list of previous postings. Or contact me at peacefulhands (at) gmail.com or call 540.672.9528.
